About Deutsche Schule of Corvallis:

Our non-profit language immersion program “Deutsche Schule Corvallis” is an educational program focusing on introducing German language and culture to children, youth and adults in the Corvallis, Oregon area.

Our Mission:

Our mission is support the multilingual development of us and of our children. We look for ways to nurture German language learning and cultural exploration for children and their families and provide various opportunities for beginning to native speakers and for the community to learn, enjoy and to network.

We started this idea in 2012, and in November 2015 we became an independent, small non-profit organization with one weekly afternoon program and bi-weekly cultural activities on Saturdays for children aged 3+ and also for adults. In the academic year, we organized a German Christmas concert and hosted a German theater for children in the Spring and were able to offer a German course at the Corvallis Waldorf School. In June 2016, we organized our first summer camp - a week long event, repeating during the Summer 2017 again. You could also meet us at the DaVinci Festival!

Mowing Forward:

Today, we teach German in three locations in Corvallis and support additional cultural activities and various events.

We offer a Parent-Child class for 3-4 years old children learning songs, rhymes and first German words with their parents, we offer Children classes (various proficiency and ages) on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. For our parents and adult learners, we offer first year classes on Fridays and Sundays, and second year class on Wednesdays.

This Summer (2018) we plan to offer our Parent-Child class for the youngest (3-4y). For 5+ year olds, we also plan our Summer week camps during the summer, as well as a regular weekly class . The adult learners can look forward to the course completing the 1st year German or to a couple of review sessions and conversations. To serve you the best, we can only with your support. We look forward to hear from you soon.
