Children’s Camps and Classes

*Please note that this is the base cost of camps. Lunchtime care= $10 per week (this is included with all-day camps). Early drop-off= $20 per week. Late Pick-up= $20 per week.  (Select options please at the registration)

In addition to registering, there are two hard-copy forms that will need to be signed for camps and young children’s classes. One consents to emergency medical treatment if a parent/guardian cannot be reached. This does not need to be signed; but it could delay treatment in an emergency. The other is a liability waiver to the church to allow a child to use the playground. Both forms are available here for review and download. Both forms will be available to sign on the first day of camp or class; but you can save time by bringing the signed form(s).

German Summer Day Camps 2023

Camp 1 – Germany, Austria, Switzerland!!!
German Summer Day Camp (Age: 4-14)

Each German-speaking country has their own unique history and culture. Find out what Germany, Austria and Switzerland have in common, and what is completely different! By the end of the camp, you will have tasted local treats, understand the geography of central Europe, and discovered what these amazing countries have to offer.
Camp open to any proficiency levels.

Camp 2 – Fantasyland
German Summer Day Camp (Age: 4-14)

Travel to the land of fantasy and magic! Hands on crafts and activities will bring the German-language land of fantasy to life! Each day we will focus on a different topic – dragons, pirates, castles, forests, and strong heroines. We will spend the morning introducing, crafting, and imagining our theme, and then wind-down in the afternoon with focused learning and games. You will leave camp having learned new stories and amassed a German vocabulary of fantasy-themed words.
Camp open to any proficiency levels.

Children & Youth
Summer term (7x weeks) – Weekly Classes 2023

PreK & Kindergarten German – Age 4-5
Friday classes 3:00-4pm
(July 21- Sep 1, 7 weeks)

Songs, crafts, and games are the best part of being a Pre-K and Kindergarten student. Show your children that learning languages can be fun and instill a life-long love of learning. At the end of the class children will know their ABC’s, how to count, basic animals, and be able to navigate a classroom in German.

Early Elementary German – Age 6-9
Thursday classes 3:00-4:30pm
(July 20- Aug 31, 7 weeks)

Early elementary students are inquisitive, which makes this a prime-learning period in your child’s life. We will use hands-on activities paired with age-appropriate workbooks to begin or continue their journey through the German language. At the end of class, students will be able to introduce themselves and have amassed a vocabulary focusing on food, animals, and body-parts.

German for PreTeens – Age 10-13
7x Thursday weekly classes: 4:30-6pm
(July 20- Aug 31, 7 weeks)

Whether you are brand-new or have some language experience, we will use games and activities to bring language to life. This course is designed for pre-teens. Groups for complete beginners up to upper A1 levels available.

High School Beginning German – Age 14-18
Friday classes 4:30-6pm
(July 21- Sep 1, 7 weeks)

Wondering if German is the language for you? Many of our local high-schools and colleges offer classes to learn German. Want to try it out before you commit to a year (or more) of learning a language. Join us for this introduction to the German language. By the end of class you will be able to introduce yourself, understand basic present-tense sentence structure, and be able to play a variety of games that rely on colors and numbers.

Dungeons & Dragons auf Deutsch– Age 13+
Thursday 6:30-8:30pm
(July 20 – Aug 31, 7 weeks)

Are you looking to build onto your German-language skill and dungeon-dive at the same time? Join us for a 7-week campaign combining adventure with language learning!  At the end of the term, you will have amassed a fantasy-themed vocabulary, practiced conversing and cooperating with others in German, and learned a little bit about the regional accents and dialects found throughout Germany.

D&D classes are open for Teens with parents‘ permission, A1 level of proficiency needed.
